Check out this curvy recurve!

By Rean Steenkamp

A curvy new recurve is on the South African market. It is the new Scythian-style recurve made by Pierre de Wet from Cupido Bows. Pierre brought the bow to Africa’s Bowhunter and I had the opportunity to shoot it. What a good looker this bow is! And it shoots excellently as well. It draws very smoothly and has little hand shock. I hit the target from the start, and although I did not shoot the bow through a chronograph, it seems pretty fast to me. This is certainly a bow I would not mind shooting or hunting with. At the price the bow sells, it is also very good value for your money.

Petru from Mosselbay made this excellent bow with Taaibos, a wood indigenous to South Africa. The bow weigh in at 45 pounds at a drawlenght of 24 inches and Petru shoots very accurately with it, says bowyer Johnny Snyman. Shows you what can be done!
