Introduction (continued...)
This publication recognizes the dearth of primitive skills in
modern, urbanized people. Its main aim is to equip the individual with the knowledge
and practical skills to survive without the “civilized" support systems
we have come to rely on so heavily. Its main thrust is to re-establish a mindset
and lifestyle of practical self reliance - the skills of improvisation, the
confidence to be able to survive in wild country through a knowledge of the
land and it's resources.
The variety of subjects will be expansive and will include subjects such as
navigational skills, finding and preparing food and water, fire making techniques,
survival strategies, making improvised weapons, bush medicine, tracking, hunting
and trapping skills, understanding animal behaviour, flint knapping, survival
camping, dealing with dangerous game, survival psychology, tanning techniques
and making your own clothes, basketry and weaving, rope making, understanding
the weather and much, much more.
It will make for exciting and rewarding reading and will impart knowledge and
skills which could make a difference between living and premature demise. A
greater awareness of the natural world around us will also open up a whole new
meaning to life and how we fit into the natural order of things. We look forward
to having you as a regular reader.
