| SURVIVAL
- the ability to live longer, with the least amount of pain, and the greatest possibility of a future. The innate, compelling desire to survive is possibly the most powerful drive of all living creatures. Those immersed in a technological society have become very dependent on outside support systems to provide us with what we need to live. Food, electricity, shelter, medical care - all those commodities and services which supply not only our basic needs but enhance our comfort, are readily available. What if you could not flick a switch to have light or to boil a kettle of water? What if the shelves at the grocery store were suddenly emptied of food or medicine was not available from the chemist to cure a severe bout of diarrhea? What if the water mains were suddenly turned off or municipal water supplies became contaminated or poisoned? What if...? What if...?
